When teeth are missing it is important to fill the gaps right away, so the adjacent teeth do not shift into those open spaces. Shifting teeth can change your overall appearance and make it harder to keep teeth clean resulting in further oral health concerns. Partial dentures are a removable prosthetic that can range from replacing one or more teeth to replacing almost your entire arch. Here at Smile Again Denture Clinic we have different options to fill the spaces of missing teeth making each treatment plan customized just to you.
Cast Framework Partial Dentures
A cast framework partial denture is the best option for a long-term solution. The framework is made through a digital scanning process and constructed out of biocompatible metals. The castings are light weight and will fit around your existing dentition and is kept in place by clasps. Framework is made for function and aesthetics making them a great choice to replace any missing teeth in your dentition on each arch. Every casting is created for each individual patient – meaning no two frameworks are ever a like!
Acrylic Partial Dentures
Acrylic Partial dentures are used in most cases for aesthetic purposes and are not intended for a long-term use. Acrylic partials are a temporary or transitional solution. Partials are made of high impact acrylic with claps that wrap around your pre-existing teeth to keep the appliance in place. The clasps can be made of either acrylic or metal. Acrylic Partial Dentures can be fabricated for either upper or lower arches.
Flexible Partial Dentures
Flexible partial dentures are the best solution for aesthetics or for those who have not worn a partial in many years. In most cases the partials are made of thermoplastic nylon resin and have no metal which allows for flexibility.
